Mission Statement
The mission of Germantown Animal Hospital is to provide quality veterinary care at affordable prices, while respecting the animals, their owners, and our fellow employees.

The clinic was started in 1978 by converting a house into a veterinary hospital. The practice was purchased in October of 1986 by Dr. Robert Mitchell and has been servicing clients continuously since that time.
Medical News
During the months of March, April, May, and June, dogs that have had a significant exposure to mosquitoes during the previous summer and fall months should be tested for heartworm disease. Once a negative test result indicates that a dog does not have heartworm disease, once-a-month preventative medications can be used to prevent a dog from developing the disease, in case the dog is bit by a mosquito carrying the organism. If a dog tests positive for heartworm disease, then further diagnostics and treatment is needed. While treatment is available, preventing heartworm disease is better than treating the disease. Therefore, we recommend that dogs having high mosquito exposure be on heartworm preventative medication during the summer and fall months.
